The Problem:

A renowned food retailer, was experiencing a persistent problem at their site in Galston. The primary issue was the ingress of rats into the store and warehouse areas, specifically through gaps at the bottom of the cladding. This posed significant risks to hygiene, product integrity, and overall safety, potentially leading to severe consequences such as product contamination, customer complaints, and financial losses.

The Challenges:

Identify Entry Points: The rats entered through small gaps at the bottom of the cladding, which were challenging to detect and access.
Implement Long-Term Solution: The solution needed to be practical and durable, ensuring no recurring issues.

Our Solution:

Vergo Pest Management undertook a comprehensive approach to tackle the rat ingress problem:

Site Inspection: The site was thoroughly inspected to identify all potential entry points. Special attention was given to the gaps at the bottom of the cladding.
Mesh Solution: A mesh solution was designed to seal the gaps effectively. This involved using durable materials to withstand the environment and prevent future ingress.
Implementation: The proofing work was carried out to seal all identified entry points. The team fixed mesh to the exterior cladding, ensured the installation was robust, and left no room for further ingress.

The Results:

The proofing solution implemented by Vergo Pest Management proved to be highly effective. Since the completion of the work, there have been no callbacks for additional proofing at the site. This indicates that the measures successfully prevented further rat ingress into the store and warehouse areas.
